3:03 PM: You'd be surprised at how few of my neighbors actually keep their weapons in secure locations.

You also might be surprised at how few of them know how to deal with zombies, but then again, maybe you wouldn't be. I wasn't.

Sure, the zombie apocalypse just had to happen on the day of a job interview. Well, turns out that my artist knows a guy who knows a guy, and we managed to get my car a little more prepared for a long journey through rural, zombie-infested territory. I can't discuss the details for national security reasons, but let's just say that gun turrets are involved.

The undead have been advancing pretty steadily. Most of them are coming from the south, I think, but it's hard to tell with all of the chaos - big mobs of them chase the remaining civilians and change from their initial course, so I can't track their movements very well. Family's all safe so far, though my brother went out for a supply run. Gotta stock up on potable water, especially with the weather as it is.

Well, then, I'm off to shred my way through the undead hordes in pursuit of gainful employment. (Sometimes you just gotta keep trying!) I just hope that when I get to my interview, the vet will still be a vet, and not just another mindless rotting fleshbag.

Is anyone else still alive and kicking?

And here I foolishly went out and biked to the grocery store today! Guess I got lucky, as I did not notice anything amiss (maybe that has more to do with my observation skills, but surely I'd have noticed SOMETHING... right? right?), but at least I am stocked up for the time being. Or maybe they've all migrated north; it's not like I'd left the house in the last couple days.

Although Alison did call to say she was getting sick. Man, I hope she doesn't zombiefy. That would be kinda awkward.
